24 February 2025Our partners from the INDIGO EU Project showcased their work at hashtagTSAS-2025 in Toulouse
The event brought together leading experts from the aerospace industry and academia to discuss advancements in sustainable aviation, it was organized by the Association Aรฉronautique et Astronautique de France (3AF).
Swapnil Singh from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center presented his research on the aerodynamic wake of Large Aspect Ratio Wing (LARW) with Strut configurationโa highly sought-after design for next-generation aircraft. Using the Vortex Sheet Methodology, he analyzed how this configuration impacts far-field pollutant dispersion compared to conventional aircraft designs. Notably, the LARW configuration is a key feature of the INDIGO aircraft, integrated alongside Distributed Hybrid Electric Propulsion (DHEP) to enhance sustainability.
Rauno Cavallaro from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid presented his work on the hashtagMDO Multidisciplinary Optimization of Strut-Braced Wings with DHEP, focusing on improving hashtagLAQN local air quality and reduce noise. His research highlights the rigorous design process behind the INDIGO aircraft, aiming to push the boundaries of greener aviation.
